My AI Bartender is designed and built by one person: a product designer in Seattle and a home bar enthusiast, working alongside AI from the first sketch of the app to the last line of code.
I've always taken pride in my home bar, and over the years I've perfected a small number of classic cocktails. Eventually I wanted more than the same few drinks on repeat, so I picked up some cocktail recipe books.
They were full of great drinks, but I couldn't make most of them. They called for exotic bitters I didn't have, flavored syrups that meant an evening in the kitchen, and half-ounce pours from bottles I didn't want to buy for a single cocktail. Buying a whole book to make one or two drinks from it didn't feel like good value.
What I really wanted was inspiration on demand: the feeling of sitting at a great cocktail bar while a skilled bartender makes something just for you, only at home, with what's already on the shelf. So I turned to AI. I listed my bottles, bitters and fresh ingredients in a spreadsheet and asked an AI to make me something good from it.
It did. Better still, the drinks weren't recipes pulled from a book. They were new, designed around exactly what I had. Before long, I was asking it which bottles were worth buying next, and giving my bartender a personality of its own.
I thought this could be something worth sharing with the world, so I built My AI Bartender to do just that.
My AI Bartender is in beta and still growing, and plenty of what's in it today started as feedback from the friends and family who tested it first. If something's broken, confusing or missing, please get in touch. Every message gets read.
Cheers,
Paul
