Getting started

How is My AI Bartender different from other cocktail apps?
Most cocktail apps hold a fixed collection of recipes and match your bottles to it, so you get the same generic drinks as everyone else. My AI Bartender has no recipe collection. Every drink is designed on the spot from the exact bottles, ingredients and tools you own, so it's built for your bar and nobody else's.
What do I need to get started?
Three bottles will get you started, but the bartender's creativity really comes alive with a collection of 20 or more. With only three bottles, don't expect much magic. The more of your bar you add, the better your drinks, so it's worth adding everything you own. Photograph each label and the bartender identifies it, or add bottles by hand. Fresh ingredients and bar tools are optional, but they widen the bartender's options too.
Do I need to download anything?
No. My AI Bartender runs in your phone or computer's web browser, camera included.
Is it free to try?
Yes. Every new account receives free credits once setup is complete, enough to try the app and see if it's for you. Saving a cocktail you've made is free, and you can come back and view it any time at no cost. That one's on the house.
Do I need to be of legal drinking age?
Yes. You'll confirm it when you create your account.

Making cocktails

What's the difference between the two bartenders?
The Skilled Bartender makes a confident, well-balanced drink from anything on your shelf. The Master Mixologist builds each drink around an idea, with a signature detail, tasting notes, the reasoning behind every bottle, and the classic it descends from.
Can I steer what the bartender makes?
As much or as little as you like. Choose a base spirit, citrus, style, flavor profile and complexity from simple classics to bartender-level technique, or leave everything as it is and let the bartender choose.
Will I be shown recipes that use things I don't own?
Only if you want to be. My AI Bartender is designed to make the most of what's in your bar right now. If you'd like to explore beyond it, an option you control lets the bartender make you a drink that includes something you don't have. Anything you'd need to buy appears as a shopping list with the recipe.
Can I see measurements in metric?
Recipes currently use ounces. A metric option is coming soon.
Why is the bartender making dull drinks?
The best home bars have upwards of 20 bottles to choose from. The app accepts as few as three, but the bartender can only work with what you tell it you have. Add your fresh ingredients, and try Stock Your Bar for suggestions that open up new cocktails.
What does Stock Your Bar do?
It looks at what you already own and suggests a bottle, a bitters and an ingredient that would unlock the most new drinks. It's free to use.
Can the bartender make mocktails?
No. My AI Bartender is designed for drinkers, and mocktails and alcohol-free spirits aren't supported. Neither is Bud Light.
Is the history behind each drink accurate?
The Master Mixologist is told to share only history it's confident in, and to say so when an origin is disputed. It's still AI, though, so treat it as good bar talk rather than a textbook.
Can I save cocktails?
Yes. Save any cocktail and it stays in Saved Cocktails, along with a shopping list if it needs anything you're missing.

Credits and payment

How do credits work?
Credits are spent only when the bartender makes you a cocktail. A Skilled Bartender cocktail uses 2 credits and a Master Mixologist cocktail uses 5 credits. Adding bottles, photo identification, Stock Your Bar and everything else are free.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire, so there's no rush to use them.
Is there a subscription?
No. There's no monthly plan to sign up for or remember to cancel. Buy a pack of credits whenever you want more cocktails, and since credits never expire, they'll be waiting whenever you're ready.
Can I get a refund?
Unopened credit packs can be refunded in full. Once you've used a credit from a pack, that pack can't be refunded. Full details are in the Refund Policy.

Privacy and your account

Do you keep my bottle photos?
No. Your photo is used only to identify the bottle. My AI Bartender never saves or stores it.
How can I delete my account?
You can do this at any time from your Profile. It irreversibly deletes your account and everything in it.
I've found a problem. Who do I tell?
My AI Bartender is in beta, so reports and feedback are very welcome. Email support@myaibartender.com.
